The Project: Set Extension for "Três Graças Ep.115"

Role: Digital Matte Painter | Client: Rede Globo

The Goal:

In this sequence, the production used a large LED panel for the background, but the camera caught the bottom edge of the volume, breaking the immersion. My mission was to resolve this technical seam, bridging the virtual and physical environments while maintaining total continuity in perspective and lighting.

The Real Challenges:

  • Technical Asset Alignment: My first priority was the perfect placement of the original LED source asset. I had to precisely match its perspective, position, and scale to the camera’s view, ensuring the digital architecture felt structurally sound against the practical set.

  • Lighting & Atmosphere Matching: The studio environment was significantly darker than the original digital asset. This created a major disparity in brightness and color. I had to re-grade the entire extension to match the "new" light, ensuring the digital elements sat naturally within the mood of the shot.

  • Reconstructing the Mid-ground: Because the studio’s darkness interfered with the fine details, I had to manually reconstruct the window lines and the chair's reflection on it. I didn't just paint these in—I had to carefully match the specific color, brightness, and light falloff of the actual set, blending the digital source asset with the practical environment until the seam was invisible.

  • Seamless Integration: By focusing on the "unseen" details—like the way light hits the window frame and how the floor reflects the digital environment—I was able to turn a technical error into a perfectly immersive shot.

Tools Used:

  • Adobe Photoshop

Production Note: This work was delivered as high-resolution layered assets to support a seamless integration within the VFX pipeline.
